Thank you to the Meadowbrook neighborhood (Meadowbrook Circle and Meadowbrook Road) in Sudbury, sponsors, and organizers for your continued support in making Accessible Trick-or-Treat such a success. It was wonderful to see nearly 200 families, some in wheelchairs, some using gait trainers, and a few with white canes, smiling together and participating in trick-or-treating. Families have reached out to us telling us this is the first trick-or-treat they have participated in for years, because the tradition wasn’t made for their family. Some parents have also told us they had tears when they realized their child could pick anything they wanted from the treat bowls due to allergies. “Our family felt understood and seen.” Thank you for making such a tremendous impact on our community and families who attended. Our hearts are full. We look forward to planning 2025 Accessible Trick-or-Treat.

Families who attended:

“My family came to your event tonight for the first time and I had to email right away to share that it was absolutely wonderful! My twins had such a great time and everyone was so friendly and sweet. I am in awe of what your community offered and I want to make sure everyone involved knows just how much of an impact they had on neurodivergent families like mine.”

“We wanted to reach out to say thank you so much from our family to all the residents, volunteers and organizers of the accessible trick or treat this evening. We really appreciated the special effort everyone put in and our kids had a wonderful time.”

“HUGE thank you to the Meadowbrook Rd & Meadowbrook Circle residents who put together the most wonderful and inclusive trick or treating experience this evening. My son, who has several severe food allergies had the most wonderful time running from table to table picking out little toys and treats that he could actually keep and enjoy. Your efforts were very much appreciated!”

“My son had the most amazing Halloween! He absolutely loved getting candy that is safe for him to eat!”

“We had a wonderful experience this evening with our kids, thank you so much to all the residents on that street and volunteers!”

“Such a great idea!! Thank you Meadowbrook families!! This is clearly the best town/community to be a part of.”

Residents from Meadowbrook neighborhood and volunteers:

“What an uplifting Halloween event was had by all tonight.  There was such joy in the air.  Even the weather cooperated.  Your efforts, collectively with our street leaders, created a most memorable holiday for many.  It was an honor to witness the comfort level in everyone, especially for those who may have experienced passed Halloweens differently.  The thoughtful planning of tea lights, table decorations, nut and allergy free snacks and toys secured success.  Impressive. A model for the future. Thank you for sharing kindness and inclusion in welcoming everyone who joined in Accessible Trick or Treat in Sudbury, MA tonight.  Such a positive initiative.”

“We were thrilled to be a part of it! Well done on a wonderful, thoughtful, accessible for all Halloween. May it be the first of many!”

“Last night was so awesome. You all did such a wonderful job. Everybody was so happy and costumes were amazing. Please sign me up for next year if you do it again!”

“Just wanted to pass along congratulations for producing such wonderful trick or treat event last evening. That had to be a record for the number of kids trick or treating. The work you did to generate that kind of participation had to be immense. Can’t wait for next year. We are going to need to step up our game for decorating our yard again. You put smiles on a bunch of kids and parents.”

“One of my kids volunteered and came home all smiles – she said it was a wonderful time and was so happy to have been a part of it. Thank you for putting together such a special event for everyone to enjoy!”
